This study examines long-term trends and shifting behavior in the collaboration network of mathematics literature, using a subset of data from Mathematical Reviews spanning 1985–2009. Rather than modeling the network cumulatively, this study traces the evolution of the “here and now” using fixed-duration sliding windows. The analysis uses a suite of common network diagnostics, including the distributions of degrees, distances, and clustering, to track network structure. Several random models that call these diagnostics as parameters help tease them apart as factors from the values of others. Some behaviors are consistent over the entire interval, but most diagnostics indicate that the network’s structural evolution is dominated by occasional dramatic shifts in otherwise steady trends. These behaviors are not distributed evenly across the network; stark differences in evolution can be observed between two major subnetworks, loosely thought of as “pure” and “applied”, which approximately partition the aggregate. The paper characterizes two major events along the mathematics network trajectory and discusses possible explanatory factors.  相似文献

This paper presents a methodology to solve the Just-in-Time (JIT) sequencing problem for multiple product scenarios when set-ups between products are required. Problems of this type are combinatorial, and complete enumeration of all possible solutions is computationally prohibitive. Therefore, Genetic Algorithms are often employed to find desirable, although not necessarily optimal, solutions. This research, through experimentation, shows that Genetic Algorithms provide formidable solutions to the multi-product JIT sequencing problem with set-ups. The results also compare favourably to those found using the search techniques of Tabu Search and Simulated Annealing.  相似文献

Main objective of the presented research is the life time prediction of self-supporting flame-sprayed Al2O3- and Al2O3 -ZrO2 -TiO2-materials under constant load. The characteristic life time and its scatter were derived from stable crack growth tests and Weibull-statistics including the four-point-bending and ball-on-three-balls method. The potential life time was estimated in order to assess room-temperature handling and long term storage of self-supporting flame-sprayed alumina components. In terms of flexural strength, energy release, and subcritical crack growth parameters, distinct differences between both materials were shown. In turn, the characteristic life times only barely deviated from each other. From that the conclusion was drawn that life time performance under constant load application is governed by the characteristic flame-spray microstructure. However, advantages in the flame-spray processing of Al2O3 - ZrO2 -TiO2 are still given, attributed to its lower melting temperature.  相似文献

A probabilistic approximation is a generalization of the standard idea of lower and upper approximations, defined for equivalence relations. Recently probabilistic approximations were additionally generalized to an arbitrary binary relation so that probabilistic approximations may be applied for incomplete data. We discuss two ways to induce rules from incomplete data using probabilistic approximations, by applying true MLEM2 algorithm and an emulated MLEM2 algorithm. In this paper we report novel research on a comparison of both approaches: new results of experiments on incomplete data with three interpretations of missing attribute values. Alkylation of N‐vinylpyrrolidone using lithium diisopropylamide and bis(2‐bromoethyl) ether was carried out to obtain 3‐(2‐(2‐bromoethoxy)ethyl)‐1‐vinyl‐2‐pyrrolidone ( 2 ). The derivative 2 represents a versatile starting molecule for further modification via nucleophilic displacement yielding, for example, the bicyclic 2‐vinyl‐8‐oxa‐2‐azaspiro[4.5]decan‐1‐one ( 4 ) or the ammonium salt 3‐diethoxy‐N,N′‐((dimethylbenzyl)ammonium bromide)‐1‐vinyl‐2‐pyrrolidone ( 10 ). Via free radical polymerization of 4 and 10 , the corresponding homopolymers were obtained. Copolymerization of 4 and 10 with N,N′‐diethylacrylamide yielded water‐soluble materials. The thermosensitive solubility of copolymers poly[(2‐vinyl‐8‐oxa‐2‐azaspiro[4.5]decan‐1‐one)‐co‐(N,N′‐diethylacrylamide)] and poly[(3‐diethoxy‐N,N′‐((dimethylbenzyl)ammonium bromide)‐1‐vinyl‐2‐pyrrolidone)‐co‐(N‐vinylpyrrolidone)] in water was investigated. © 2015 Society of Chemical Industry  相似文献

Sepsis is the most common cause of death in intensive care units and associated with widespread activation of host innate immunity responses. Ribonucleases (RNases) are important components of the innate immune system, however the role of RNases in sepsis has not been investigated. We evaluated serum levels of RNase 1, 3 and 7 in 20 surgical sepsis patients (Sepsis), nine surgical patients (Surgery) and 10 healthy controls (Healthy). RNase 1 and 3 were elevated in Sepsis compared to Surgery (2.2- and 3.1-fold, respectively; both p < 0.0001) or compared to Healthy (3.0- and 15.5-fold, respectively; both p < 0.0001). RNase 1 showed a high predictive value for the development of more than two organ failures (AUC 0.82, p = 0.01). Patients with renal dysfunction revealed higher RNase 1 levels than without renal dysfunction (p = 0.03). RNase 1 and 3 were higher in respiratory failure than without respiratory failure (p < 0.0001 and p = 0.02, respectively). RNase 7 was not detected in Healthy patients and only in two patients of Surgery, however RNase 7 was detected in 10 of 20 Sepsis patients. RNase 7 was higher in renal or metabolic failure than without failure (p = 0.04 and p = 0.02, respectively). In conclusion, RNase 1, 3 and 7 are secreted into serum under conditions with tissue injury, such as major surgery or sepsis. Thus, RNases might serve as laboratory parameters to diagnose and monitor organ failure in sepsis.  相似文献
